Twitch Affiliate Program launches today! First invites going out…

Today we’re excited to launch a program to help streamers who have been working hard to grow their stream, but haven’t reached Partner status. The Twitch Affiliate Program will allow qualified streamers to start earning on their channels using Bits, and in the future, with additional tools. The first round of invites are going out today, and we want to give you some insight into how invitations will roll out.

Affiliate Invitation Process

The first batch of invitations is going out today for streamers who met the criteria to join the Affiliate Program. More invitations will be sent gradually over the next several weeks, so please be patient! We will update you on @Twitch to let you know when a new batch goes out. New invites will continue to go out on a rolling basis as additional streamers qualify for the program.

There are four ways we are reaching out to each invitee to ensure they get the message: by email, by Notification in the upper right hand corner of twitch.tv, and two announcements in the streamer dashboard — one on the Live tab and one on the Settings tab.

Sale on Bits for First-Time Buyers!

To celebrate the launch of the Affiliate Program, we are offering a special discounted bundle of Bits for first-time buyers: get 700 Bits for $7. That’s 200 bonus Bits! If you haven’t yet tried Bits, now is a great time to pick up a bundle. There will be lots of new channels through the Affiliate Program where you’ll be able to show your support by Cheering with Bits.

We’re excited to empower a new class of streamers to start receiving meaningful support from their viewers on Twitch! We will continue to grow this program based on your feedback. Tell us what you think here.

Burning Questions:

How do I apply for the Twitch Affiliate Program?

A. There is no application process. We will invite streamers who qualify for the program to sign up.

How do I qualify to become a Twitch Affiliate?

A. The criteria is likely to change over time as the program develops. At launch, we’ll be inviting non-partnered streamers who have:

  • At least 500 total minutes broadcast in the last 30 days

  • At least 7 unique broadcast days in the last 30 days

  • An average of 3 concurrent viewers or more over the last 30 days

  • At least 50 Followers

In what countries is the Affiliate Program available?

A. We are inviting Affiliates globally, from all countries.

Since Bits are not as accessible for purchase in some regions, how will Affiliates in those regions benefit from the Affiliate Program?

A. We are excited to launch the Affiliates Program globally, giving emerging broadcasters everywhere a chance to receive appreciation from our global audience through Bits. While Bits aren’t yet as easy to purchase in all regions as we’d like, viewers that have an international credit card can purchase them anywhere. Additionally, we did not want to restrict broadcasters from receiving support from viewers who may be in a region where Bits are more accessible. Thank you for your patience as we continue to improve availability of Bits in all regions. In the coming months we will be adding more tools for Affiliates such as Subscriptions, Ads, and Game Commerce.

I have a question that isn’t answered here!
