For the love of Bob…
One year ago, we launched Twitch Creative. A place where anyone could share their creative process, collaborate with peers, and find some inspiration. To celebrate the launch, something happened that can only be described as…magical. Millions joined us for a marathon stream of all 403 episodes of the Joy of Painting with the late Bob Ross. It was the happiest accident that ever was.
Bob represents what it means to be a Creative streamer and the happiness that can follow when you share your creative process with others. He’s basically Twitch Creative’s spirit animal. Well, the internet’s reaction to the marathon was nothing short of incredible. In fact, we received countless requests and even outright demands to keep Bob on the air and to repeat the marathon in full.
Well… Bob’s 74th birthday is just around the corner and we think it would be criminal if we didn’t celebrate again. So, we’re happy to announce that starting 10/29 at 9am PDT, we’ll begin the marathon one more time. Every episode, every happy little tree, every almighty mountain, and every life-affirming word of wisdom will be streamed on /bobross in full. SAVED, indeed.
In addition to the marathon, we’ve created some extra special new ways to celebrate Bob.
Call your local station
First, your local station, twitch.tv, has set up a toll-free number (BOB — 297 — ROSS) for fans to call and share your happy little thoughts. Maybe Bob has changed your life for the better, or inspired you to paint along. Or maybe you were inspired by the marathon stream and chat. Call anytime to share your story and we’ll broadcast some of our favorites over the course of the marathon. Lines are open and operators are standing by, so call now.
Stream with Bob
This year we’re also enabling co-streaming of /bobross. If you’re a streamer, you can paint along with Bob and get all zen with your followers. Just set your game to Creative and make sure to put a #bobrossmarathon in your title. If you do decide to host the marathon on your channel, you’ll also automatically have a chance to win a year long subscription to the Bob Ross channel.

Last year, we debuted a special emote for the marathon, KappaRoss and Twitch Chat has used it an amazing 3.8 million times since. This year, we’re debuting a new emote for the occasion, introducing…CoolStoryBob.
