Localization Updates for Web

As previously announced , we’re committed to making Twitch a great place for people to connect over the games they love, no matter what language they speak. Last month, we added language support for our iOS app and today we’re excited to roll out improvements to localization (i.e., translations) for our site.

Our latest update includes language support for: Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Russian, Slovak, Spanish (Spain), Swedish and Chinese (traditional).*

This means that it’ll be easier to find broadcasts via our Directory, chat with your friends, and configure your settings. If you have previously set your preferred language to English, you can change this by:

  1. Scrolling to the bottom of our front page.

  2. Clicking Language and selecting your preferred language.

Otherwise, you will not need to take any other action. Our localization update should automatically detect your preferred language based on your browser settings.

* Better translations for Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Portugal) and Turkish will coming very soon.
