Twitch App for iOS v.3.0.4 with Audio Only Mode

With Twitch for iOS v3.0.4’s new Audio Only mode, you can continue listening to live broadcasts when your phone is locked or the app is in the background. Activating this new playback mode is as easy as tapping the Video Options icon (the cog) in the video player and selecting ‘Audio Only’ mode.

Now, when you tap your phone’s power button, audio from the broadcast will continue to play back. You can pause playback, adjust volume, and view broadcast information from the lock screen.

If you like, you can even have the Twitch app automatically switch to Audio Only mode whenever you lock your device while watching video. Simply browse to the Twitch entry in Settings and activate the Always Play in Background toggle.
