Twitch Announces Support of Studio Bean’s Choice Chamber

UPDATE (4/17): Choice Chamber is now funded! Thanks to the Twitch community for giving the final push. You all made the right choice.

UPDATE (4/16): Click this link for the Reddit AMA.

Today, we’re very excited to announce our intent to match the funds needed for Studio Bean to launch Choice Chamber, the first game built specifically for Twitch. Studio Bean currently has a Kickstarter that needs to reach $30,000 in pledges by 7:00pm PT on Sunday, April 20th. We’ve offered to match the remaining amount at the time of this announcement to help turn this concept into a reality! This means we’re covering half of what remains to be raised and are looking to our community to assist with the rest.

Choice Chamber was specifically designed from the ground-up for use with Twitch. In the game, the player fights off a never-ending horde of enemies in dangerous chambers. However, it’s the viewers who decide the player’s fate, as they constantly give input via chat to change the game in real time.

To get the Twitch community involved in Choice Chamber, we’ve recruited some of your favorite Twitch broadcasters to play the game. Here is today’s schedule for the Twitch channels that will broadcast Choice Chamber (all times Pacific):

9:00am — Ducksauce 12:00pm — Towelliee 6:30pm — KBMOD 8:30pm — Lethalfrag

There will be a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) at 11:30am PT today with Studio Bean’s Michael Molinari spanning all of their previous games and Choice Chamber. The AMA will be posted to r/IAmA.

Reading through the Kickstarter some more, and based on our pledge, it looks like Twitch has some choices to make of our own. (No, we will not use chat for these choices. But nice try!) First, which employee gets the small-scale mini game? Who gets to design our custom backer power? Who gets the Player Boost, Hellfire & Hoarfrost, Mini-on, and Great Gizmo? Reading some more…wait, no t-shirt?!
