Ender’s Game on Blu-Ray Tournament, powered by Twitch

The Ender’s Game on Blu-ray Tournament is an unique promotional esports event held in collaboration with Twitch and MLG featuring an epic StarCraft II tournament for over $20,000 in prizes being held in advance of the February 11th on Demand and Pay-Per-View release of Ender’s Game.

Ender’s Game, a film about a boy being groomed for a commanding role in an epic space battle, is perfectly suited to a StarCraft II competition led by the two gaming titans. StarCraft II, set in space, is a military science fiction real-time strategy online game. Just as Ender rose above his fellow students to become Commander of the International Fleet, one StarCraft II player will rise above his or her competition to become the Ender’s Game on Blu-ray Tournament Champion.

About the Tournament

Sixteen players currently residing in the United States have been invited to play out a galactic battle to promote the release of Ender’s Game on Blu-ray and DVD. On top of a $7000 prize pool, the winning player will be invited to a showmatch against the victor of MLG’s GameOn Tournament to compete for a larger prize pool of $10,000, to be broadcasted on Twitch.

Format Players are placed into 4 groups of 4 to be played out GSL style. The top 2 from each group will advance to the single elimination brackets Round of 8.

Commentators

Group play will be commentated by Nathanias from February 5th-7th. The combination of RotterdaM and MrBitter will commentate from February 8th-9th and during the Grande Finale on February 22nd.

Schedule February 5th-9th starting at 17:00 PST with the Championship Round on February 22nd at 11:00 PST.
