Welcome to the New Twitch Official Blog

When people ask us to describe what Twitch is, it’s easy enough to default to our boilerplate statement. “Twitch is the leading video platform and community for gamers with more than 23 million visitors per month.” That’s easy, but it doesn’t tell the whole story. It doesn’t tell you that Twitch is a living, brea_thing_ thing that’s wholly dynamic and its change is directly influenced on a minute-by-minute basis by an incredible community of broadcasters. And as Twitch continues to grow and expand, so too must our ability to tell this story — your story — to the rest of the gaming world.

The Twitch Official Blog redesign is more than cosmetic as it also represents a great shift in editorial focus. Previously, this space was occupied too often by press releases or generic event information. That kind of content is both useful and necessary, but it doesn’t tell the whole story, and we’re going to need your help to craft a vision that better reflects the Twitch community.

The redesign is intended to give visitors a snapshot as to what is actually happening in this crazy world of ours. You’ll be receiving more and frequent updates from everything ranging from event information, broadcaster spotlights, what life is like here at Twitch HQ, VOD highlights that showcase great moments you may have missed, interesting analytical trends, and so much more.

You may notice the “contact” link in the header navigation. You can use that form to contact us directly and send us anything you wish, whether it’s a question you’d like to see answered in a public post, a Twitch meme, or really, whatever you feel like sending our way. We can’t respond to everything, but we promise to read it all.

This shift in editorial direction is long overdue, and so we’re extremely thrilled to be putting ourselves in a position to not only share more, but engage more as well. We want to help foster a more knowledgeable, creative and overall inspired community, and we can only do this by sharing more ourselves. We’re still working out some unexpected bugs (Comments blew up in the transition. You’ll be able to sign-in how you please very soon.), but we hope you’re as excited as we are about this overhaul.
